Shurato's Heavenly Sphere Anime Telnet/Dial-up BBS
Dynamic IP address: shurato.net.
Currently, the system sports:
Running under Elebbs 0.10.rc1.d+ - Beta Testing System -
Web Board at http://shurato.net/login.htm
4 Telnet Nodes (Please be ready to telnet before clicking on this link. Read below for information to help out users new to telneting.)(telnet://shurato.net)
Java Telnet Applet remote access (http://shurato.net/telnet.html) (no files access and some games don't look quite right).
Internet E-Mail and System E-Mail accounts - offering POP3 mailboxes for those requiring them.
USENET access to Anime Newsgroups from BBS or News Server- On demand I'll include anime binary groups. This is a perfect replacement for an OLMR and works with your current news client (news://shurato.net)
News Client access to message areas quickly including AnimeNet and FIDONet (Which is a fairly open server. Anyone can read, but you need a bbs account for any posting), with news://shurato.net
FIDONet echoes - You need to supply a real name (FTN Regulations) for posting access. There's a message area for practically everything.
Online games, with more to come soon. I've registered Internet Rex so I can set up individual pop3 boxes for people who want them, as well as going InterBBS. Door games I've installed:
LORD with a several IGMs, Including a registered Latrine.

Virtual Sysop III

The suggested Telnet client is Mtel/32, which can be obtained at http://ozone.eesc.com can be run in a console window fullscreen or windowed, and has superb ANSI support. Be warned though, it uses hot-keys instead of menus, which may confuse most people used to windows. Fullscreen, though, on a large monitor looks much better than Hyperterminal ever could hope to, plus the color support is more precise than Hyper Terminal.
If you're in win**, HyperTerminal Private Edition 6.3 http://www.hilgraeve.com is suggested. The version that comes with early Win32 is the regular version and has many bugs in ansi support as well as no telnet support. Make sure you select ANSI instead of auto-detect for terminal type. Some users have to turn echo on in the terminal configuration. You'll also need an extended ascii capable font, like terminal or 8514oem, or the hypr font pack on the hilgraeve site in the HTPE FAQ page.
Even more alternatives as well as clients for other Operating Systems can be found at http://www.telnet.org
To access the BBS use the URL: telnet://shurato.net
If your client (for Win32) doesn't make itself the default telnet client, edit the filetype association for url:telnet to open your chosen client from My Computer/View/Folder Options/File Types.
This is a beta test site, so expect some weird-ness on occasion, and please report it so I can either fix it myself or report the problems to be resolved. Generally, if I can fix it, it will be fixed within a day after it has been reported. If I can't fix the problem, I can always regress the elebbs module causing the problem. If it's not directly related to the BBS (like door games), I'll do my best to contact the authors and resolve the issue as reasonably soon as possible.
