The past two meetings (12/21/99 and 1/4/00) went pretty well. We've decided to hold meetings alternately at Court's and My place. We didn't get to test the feasibility of two viewing rooms at either place, but the possibility does exist if more than 8 or so people show up at a meeting. The next meeting will be next Tuesday at Court's place. There are maps posted for his place and my place as well on the baka-aho mailing list archive. I'm not sure what we'll show, but hopefully Erika will bring some more Saber Marionette J! Also, as some of you know, I run a telnet BBS (I've been procrastinating on putting up the dial-up node, but it is almost ready). I'm looking to borrow any 1st or 2nd generation fansubs to encode them and place them for download on my system. Let me know if any of you can help!

Tonight's meeting was more of a success than I honestly expected. Please join the mailing list (available from an easy to use form on the contacts page) and vote on the polls that I've created. Also, email me with a group name suggestion so I can create a poll for that. So far we just have BAKA and MONAC. I've scheduled 2 more meetings that are listed on the showing page and event notification will be sent via the mailing list as well. I would like to set up an egroups chat eventually and get as many members as possible in it to discuss politics, since it appears to be difficult for many to show up on a regular basis due to scheduling or transportation issues. The next sheduled meetings are scheduled for Thursday to accomodate those with other Wednesday night meetings.
11/24/99
The discussion of politics didn't go very well with only a few people showing up. Unfortunately at the next meeting on the first of December, we won't have time to discuss such things. We may have to use our mailing list for this, but a bunch of members don't have easy internet access, so it wouldn't be fair to quite a few people. We need to discuss the holding place for meetings as the Library is hard to get reservations for and we end up with large gaps between meetings. I'd be willing to hold them at my place, with two viewing rooms if it got too crowded. My place is just a 1 bedroom apt., but the computer in the bed room has a video capture card which can display video full screen at tv framerates. It's only 17", but people sit closer, so it's decent. We'll see.

Tentative meeting dates have been set. More info on the baka-aho mailing list.

Looks like we've probably got some more life in the club. We have 5 potential new members, and are working out a schedule right now. Details in the mailing list.
7/30/99
The club is still active, though on a bit of a hiatus while we regroup. I've been ill lately, and as the primary coordinator and supplier of anime, things kind of went down the tubes. Plus, the last 4 meetings either had only 1 or 2 people (including myself) which was a bit disheartening. I've been contacted by some potential members that are willing to help out. We'll be straightening this out over email, hopefully shortly.
5/31/99
Sorry about so long between updates. We've been added to the Pacific Northwest Anime Club Webring, which is accessible via the starting page, or if you need to get back to it from the "Home" button. I've created an FTP site, more information on which is located in our mailing list (check out the Contact page).
4/27/99
A mailing list has been formed. To join it or view it via the web, check out the Contact page.
4/26/99
AHO has been kind enough to share their meeting dates for May. AHO movies will be shown from 5PM-7PM, BAKA movies will be shown from 7PM-9PM. Please be prompt so we can get out before the librarian makes us leave. Check the Showing page for more information.
4/25/99
I've been unable to reserve any meetings for the month of may. June is still setup though. Please let others know about this scheduling issue.
4/21/99
Some bad news. The room is booked for a while, so if we have meeetings, we'll have to have them on another day. Tuesday and Thursday are also days that the library is open until 9PM. Let me know which sounds best, or if they're both good and I'll set up some more meetings. This DOES NOT effect the meeting on the 2nd of June. That meeting will be as scheduled.
4/21/99
As posted previously, the meeting tonight starts at 7PM. I'll try to be there at 6:30 so we can grab the room when the earlier scheduled meeting is ended. Please, always check this site (particularly the news and showings sections).
4/7/99
I've adjusted the button sizes and a few other things, so now the page looks ok at 800x600 without having to be in fullscreen. Fullscreen mode will give you a lot more room for the page though. It looks like I'll be unable to put up the G2 files since they're copyright violations. For full episodes of DBZ, go to http://www.otakuworldorder.com
4/6/99
I replaced the image map with some really cool java buttons. I'm also thinking about having a page with Ranma and Kenshin video clips (they'd be G2). I might do that tonight, but definitely soon.
4/6/99
The site now has a new home. I set the old page to redirect to here, so hopefully you found this page without any inconvenience. This site has more options than geocities and a lot more space. I'd like comments as to what sort of anime related media that I should put up. I've got a bunch of G2 Ranma and a couple other anime and tons 'o MP3s. Please let me know! Also, there may be some bugs in the transfering,I had to change a lot of stuff. Let me know if you have the slightest problem.
4/5/99
A few members have raised the issue of having more than just 2 meets a month. I'm not sure about the schedule yet, but there will be a meeting for AHO (Another Haven for Otaku) on the 14th of April from 5PM-9PM. The library only allows a group to have two meetings booked at a time, which makes it tricky to have more than 2 meetings a month. I don't know if the library might say something seeing the same people in both groups, but I'm pretty sure AHO will go on without a hitch.
4/3/99
The meeting on the 21st of April will be from 7PM-9PM. Someone scheduled until 6:30 and the Library requires a 30 minute time between meetings. Please check this page before heading to a meeting to avoid any confusion.
4/1/99
There was some misunderstanding as to the scheduling of the meetings. The meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. This last Wednesday (the 31st) was the 5th Wednesday of March. The meeting will take place as scheduled next Wednesday.
3/18.99
I took a nap and was about 15 minutes late to the meeting. We had 3 new members show up (fortunately after me). None of the regular members were able to attend for various reasons.
3/13/99
There was a problem with form submission. It now appears to be working properly.
3/12/99
Please visit the slambook often, I'll be changing questions on a regular basis.
3/11/99
Due to some pressure from emails, I'm setting up the page for 800x600. It'll only look good if you're in fullscreen or kiosk mode though, not just maximized. Also, the group is still called BAKA, but I removed the adult from the group name. I thought we did a pretty good job of making it clear that the group was for adults, but not showing adult videos. I received emails to the contrary.
3/10/99
I've been getting email regarding Baka-Con 99. I definitely want to go, but I can't afford to do it myself (nor do I trust my transportation. It will be April 23-25 at the Double Tree Inn in Tukwilla, Washington, USA. The link for more information is: Baka-Con 99
3/6/99
I've added a link to a slam book in the menu frame. I'll probably add to it as I get more familiar with how it works. For now, it's a place to answer some pretty basic questions about anime and a means for tracking answers to those questions.
3/3/99
BAKA is officially listed on the Anime Turnpike as the only Anime club in Boise, or Idaho for that matter. I've also contacted a couple of fangroups in town to let them know about us. It looks like we might have 3 new members for tonight's (3/3/99) showing, and hopefully that number will continue to grow. Also, if you have any anime, there's a decent chance that it's something of which I don't have and we would be happy to show Anime other than just that which is in my collection.
